Between archeology and vineyards 

An unusual trip to savour a still little-known part of the island through its traditions and history. 

A week in which we will step back into the past of 3000 years to discover the Nuragic civilization, we will visit farms particularly attentive to sustainability, we will assist and participate in the preparation of traditional products, we will meet the artisans who with their art keep the ancient knowledge alive.

You will be welcomed in small family-run “de charme” facilities that have the values of environmental, economic and social sustainability at heart.

Day 1: Cagliari 

Arrival and welcome in Cagliari Airport 

Drive to Cagliari and check in hotel/charme B&B

Day 2 – Cagliari to Gergei

After breakfast, check our and departure from Cagliari to Gergei 

During the trip, stop and visit of the winery Cantina Argiolas, in Seridiana, one of the most important wineries on the island.

During the tour you will find out the history of the family and of the founder of the winery, while visiting the areas of wine production, surrounded by the scent of must.

After the visit you will taste their top wines together with local cheese, cured meat and carasau bread.

After lunch, departure to Gergei

Day 3 – Gergei – Gesturi 

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Gesturi 

We will start the day with a visit to the Giara plateau – this is a unique natural environment, rich in bushes and herbs of the Mediterranean Scrub and cork oaks, inhabited by the famous wild horses, which can be admired and photographed in their natural habitat.

Later we will visit the nuraghe of Barumini, a monument symbol of Sardinia, as well as the only UNESCO site on the island: Su Nuraxi.

It is the largest Nuragic village known to date, a marvelous archaeological site that hosts a megalithic structure with 5 towers, built 1400 years BC.

Traditional lunch in a local restaurant. 

After lunch transfer to the Cantina Soi with Ape-Car (charming Italian three-wheeler)  and guided tour through the wine yards.

Dinner with wine tasting 

Transfer back to hotel/charme B&B in Gergei

Day 4 – Cabras – Paulilatino  

Breakfast at the hotel and check out 

Departure to Paulilatino and stop to visit Santa Cristina 

Sacred well of Santa Cristina.

The sacred well is the highest architectural expression of the Nuragic civilization dating back about 3000 years ago, but it seems built today, with its squared boulders, perfectly embedded with a perfect geometry.

Located near Paulilatino, it is the most representative sacred well of the Island where stories, legends and truths intertwine with each other.
